One of the most intriguing aspects of the 2013 NFL Draft is the balance between talent and position scarcity. The rarest asset in the NFL is a franchise quarterback, but this year's crop doesn't have a true top 10 talent. Still, because of the dearth of talent at the position overall, there's talk about a quarterback still being taken early. On the other hand, there are at least two guard with top 10 talent: Alabama guard Chance Warmack and North Carolina guard Jonathan Cooper. The issue is that guard isn't a money position and in this NFL Draft alone some say there are 8-10 future starters at guard. In the end, talent has to win out over the value of position scarcity. That makes Alabama guard Chance Warmack a great choice for the Tennessee Titans at No. 10 overall in our 2013 NFL Mock Draft.

The Tennessee Titans have already snagged the top free agent guard on the market, signing Andy Levitre away from the Buffalo Bills. Adding Chance Warmack from Alabama with the No. 10 choice in the 2013 NFL Draft gives the Titans two plus players at the guard positions. That should be a huge help to the running game, now featuring Chris Johnson, Javon Ringer and Shonn Greene in the backfield. A strong running game is a young quarterback's best friend, plus some added protection in the middle will definitely be welcomed by Jake Locker.

Mark Eddinger of Motorsports 101 made the choice for the Tennessee Titans:

"The Titans ranked only 21st in rushing offense in 2012 and need to improve the interior of their offensive line to give Chris Johnson room to operate. They did sign Guard Andy Levitre but still could use more help in there. General Manager Ruston Webster has said that he is not opposed to taking a guard at pick 10. Warmack is considered by many to be the top interior offensive lineman in this year's draft class and at 6' 3" and 320 lbs his frame is certainly NFL ready. He is known to be a great run blocker but is also good in pass protection which will be important to try to keep Jake Locker on his feet."

Love this pick. As much as everyone buys into the "NFL is a passing league" feeling pushed by so many analysts, football is still won along the offensive and defensive lines. While Joe Flacco got the big contract and had tons of praise heaped on him for his playoff run, it's no coincidence that he started playing better after the Baltimore Ravens shuffled their offensive line and began protecting him better.

Does this mean Titans fans should get hotel rooms in New York in anticipation of the Super Bowl? Maybe not, but you can bet they would give some opposing defenses issues in the middle of their defensive front with two very good guard paving the way for their running backs.

That brings us to the San Diego Chargers at the 11th pick. It's transition time in San Diego, with the holdovers from their playoff teams that fell short getting up in age and new head coach Mike McCoy taking over.
